Waiting for dough to rise. Another focaccia. Roasted garlic, black and green olives, and rosemary. Is this, like, a job that I can, like, have? Also, Chinese food. I might do it. I might order some because it is just that sort of day where I’ll put on some Buffy and eat some deep-fried bits covered in a sugary glaze while I wait for my nails and my laundry to dry. What a gross girl, you.
Aw crap. Double-booked myself. I am baking Nora’s 26th and Golden Birthday cake and am planning to attend the festivities. It’s also the night of a Cunt Collective show that I’ve been stoked on for some time. I have decorating ideas that I’m borrowing from the internet. What to do. What to do. Cake yes. Yes. I am so excited to bake this cake! However, I’m kind of...

I have a lot of thoughts about cooking as work. I should probably blog about it...

Today, I was told I missed the best New Years party. There was mulled whiskey and lamb sausages and quiches (yeah, more than one kind) and so much more food from young chef-y types and a short game of flip cup.
I haven’t been cooking. I’ve been busy or gone or broke or all three. I want to be back in my kitchen. I want to peel potatoes, sweat some onions, grind up spices. I want to...
